The Central Bank of Nigeria announced that InfraCorp Plc, the N15trn Infrastructure Fund which will boost funding for capital projects, will be launched in October. The CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, disclosed this on Tuesday in Abuja at the annual banking and finance conference organised by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria. He said that the project, which was conceptualised by the CBN alongside African Finance Corporation and the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority, will help to address the challenge of infrastructure deficit in the country. The Minister of Power, Abubakar Aliyu, on Monday assured that the 40MW Dadinkowa Power project in Gombe State would soon receive the Federal Government’s intervention. THE Federal Government on Monday revealed that a total of 4,052,756 eligible persons have so far received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine as of September 12, 2021. Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Dr Faisal Shuaib, made this known in Abuja during the national briefing of the Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19. According to him, a total of 1,692,315 eligible persons are fully vaccinated and the country currently has a national “average of 70.4% utilization of the 2,000,040 doses of Moderna vaccines we received.” [Tribune]
Timipre Sylva, minister of State for Petroleum Resources, has launched the US$50 million Nigerian Content Research and Development, R&D, fund. The launching of the fund by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) was also an occasion for the commissioning of the Board’s Technology Incubation and Innovation Center located within the Board’s Tower in Yenogoa, Bayelsa.
