President Muhammadu Buhari has commissioned the 24-kilometre Vandeikya-Obudu Cattle Ranch Road connecting seven communities in Benue State to Cross River State in Tsua town, Vandeikya local government area of Benue State. Buhari, who was represented by the minister of special duties and intergovernmental affairs, Senator George Akume said, “This road has been built to the highest quality of design and workmanship and if is well used, it should last for the designed service life.”[Leadership]
In its commitment to upscale data protection in Nigeria, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has begun the process of licensing and partnering with a qualified institution to set standards, prepare exams and issue certifications on data protection skill in the country. These processes are part of the implementation of the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR), a subsidiary of data legislation in the country. The director general of NITDA, Mallam Kashifu Inuwa, CCIE, strongly advised on the need for Data Protection Officers (DPOs).[Leadership]
The Nigerian Shippers’ Council says the launch of the Nigerian Port Process Manual, (NPPM) has minimised corrupt practices and congestion in ports. In a report on Friday, The Council announced that the NPPM has saved the Nigerian Economy average vessel demurrage if $20,000 per day between 2020 and 2021 which ultimately translated to the sum of $6,540,000 N3.2 billon. The Nigerian economy grew by a modest annual rate of 4.03percent in the third quarter (Q3) of 2021 according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
