The Federal Government is to begin Airborne Geophysical Survey in 19 states of the Federation. The General Manager, Nigerian Mining Cadastre Office, Mr Obadiah Nkom made this known. Nkom, who led a team from the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, said that the survey will last for eight months. He said the Mineral Sector Support for Economic Diversification Project (MinDiver) is a World Bank-supported project under the ministry.[Punch]

The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Dr Zainab Ahmed, said yesterday that the Federal Government raised the sum of N669 billion from the Nigerian capital market through issuance of Sukuk Bonds. Ahmed disclosed this at the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) 2021 national workshop, with the theme, “Leveraging the Financial Markets to Achieve Double- Digit Economic Growth for Nigeria’’. She said the Federal Government, through the Debt Management Office, DMO, raised N669 billion from the capital market between 2018 and 2020.[Vanguard]

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Alhaji Muhammad Sabo Nanono, has stated that strengthening of the Dairy Value Chain would improve the quality of locally produced milk, boost production and increase the network of milk suppliers in the country. The Minister made this disclosure during the signing of the (MOU), between the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Friesland Campina WAMCO on Dairy Value Chain in Abuja. The Federal Government through the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation on Thursday reiterated its irrevocable commitment to improving the welfare of the Federal civil servants across the country. Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, Head of Civil Service of the Federation, who stated this in Abuja at the commissioning of ‘Welfare House,’ said the Federal Government would continue to accord priority to the welfare and wellbeing of workers to boost their productivity and ensure a virile workforce.[Independent]

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), on Wednesday unveiled documents to support compliance to breastfeeding code implementation and Breast Milk Substitutes (BMS) regulations in the country. The Director General of NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, said that the BMS Code was an international health policy framework for breastfeeding protection and promotion adopted by the 3rd and 4th of the World Health Assembly (WHA) in 1981. Represented by her Special Assistant, Mr Gbenga Fajemirokun, the director general said that the Code was developed as a public health strategy. [Business Day Pg 4]

The Minister of Defence, Maj.-Gen. Bashir Magashi (rtd), has said Nigeria and the Republic of Bulgaria will soon sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on defence cooperation. Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) on Wednesday August 18 listed on its platform the August 2021 issue of the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) Savings Bonds. The FGN Savings Bond is an investment instrument targeted at retail investors with a minimum subscription of N5, 000.
