The President, Muhammadu Buhari, has inaugurated the three million metric tonnes Dangote Fertiliser Plant in Lagos. The inauguration took place on Tuesday at the Lagos Free Trade Zone, Lekki. “This is a demonstration of enhancing the socio-development of the country,” Buhari said, while also commending the Dangote Fertiliser team. Fully vaccinated inbound travellers would no longer be required to take a pre-departure PCR COVID-19 test, the Federal Government said on Monday. The FG said they would, however, be subjected to rapid antigen test at the airport by the NCDC within the arrival hall of the airport free of charge. President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday invited Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, over the worsening insecurity in the state. Last Sunday, Buhari described as “deeply distressing” the destruction in Imo State, of buildings and assets of the police and the home of the president-general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Professor George Obiozor. Speaking to State House correspondents after meeting with the president, Uzodinma said Buhari approved his request for additional manpower, ammunition and arms. Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola has disclosed that the federal government has rehabilitated and constructed 76 internal road networks in 46 tertiary institutions across the country towards ensuring conducive learning environment for the students. The minister, who disclosed this at the commissioning of internal roads for the Federal College of Agriculture, Moor plantation, Ibadan, maintained that the development was meant to ease movement within the institution and its environs. Represented by the Oyo State Federal Controller Works, Mr. Kayode Ibrahim, the minister said, “The Federal Government had intervened in the internal road network of 46 tertiary federal institutions, out of which 29 had been handed over in 2021.’’[Leadership]
The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Pantami, has opened the 3rd National Identification Number (NIN) diaspora Enrolment centre in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Accompanied by the Director-General/CEO of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Aliyu Aziz, the Minister reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to ensure that all Nigerians have the foundational identity, most especially Nigerians in the diaspora. He emphasized the need for all Nigerians living and working in the UAE to enrol and be issued the NIN. The newly opened centre managed by NIMC-Licensed Diaspora Enrollment partner, Knowledge Square and Plectrum Limited brings the total number of centres opened in thirty-eight (38) countries to One Hundred and fifty-two (152).
