The Federal Government has saved over N22.45bn through the enforcement of the guideline for the clearance of information technology projects in federal public institutions. Director-General, National Information Technology Development Agency, Kashifu Abdullahi said the enforcement of the guideline, which was one of the regulatory instruments of NITDA, started in 2016, had helped to address unnecessary spendings on IT projects in public institutions. The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) has accepted the invitation by the Nigerian Medical Association to attend its annual general conference and delegate meeting in Jos. President Muhammadu Buhari has nominated Salisu Garba as the substantive chief judge of the federal capital territory (FCT) high court. The nomination is contained in a letter sent to the senate by Buhari and read by Ahmad Lawan, senate president, at the plenary on Tuesday. President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday assured the newly inaugurated president of Republic of Niger, Mohamed Bazoum, of Nigeria’s willingness to work with the country to stabilize the West African region. The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has warned airlines operating in the country to intensify their efforts at complying with the industry’s safety procedures to avoid incidents and accidents. The director-general of NCAA, Musa Nuhu, gave the warning in an interview with aviation journalists in Lagos on Sunday. According to him, the authority considers safety as its number one priority including the safe operation of the airlines and operators. [Business Day]
