Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Bashir Jamoh, has assured maritime stakeholders that the agency’s modular floating dock is in the process of being deployed. The modular floating dock, acquired at an estimated cost of N50 billion by NIMASA will soon be in operations as the two top maritime agencies are facilitating its deployment. Jamoh disclosed this during a visit to Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Hadiza Bala-Usman.[Sun News]
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, approved over N82 billion for the completion of infrastructure projects within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. The Bank of Industry (BoI) has approved a $1 billion syndicated loan to support the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as part of government’s economic recovery efforts. BOI in partnership with an international organisation has concluded plans for the immediate release of the loan under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment.The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo, said the loan is expected to improve the capacity of the bank to effectively support MSME across key sectors of the economy on medium to long-term tenor arrangements.[Guardian]
The National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA), has trained and distributed skill aqcusition starter parks to 180 youths in Gombi and Hong LGAs of Adamawa state. Mr Huck Kadumi, Director Special Duties, informed the trainees that, the agency is liaising with federal ministry of works to engage the trainees in the federal government planned construction of 3,500 housing units in the state. The youths were targeted to create awareness to prevent the spread of AIDS. The beneficiaries were trained on tailoring, hair dressing, POP making, painting, interlocking. [Leadership]
