The International Civil Aviation Organisation, the United Nations agency that promotes order in civil aviation globally, has granted approval to Nigeria’s Accident Investigation Bureau for the digitalisation of accident investigation reporting. Commissioner/Chief Executive Officer, AIB, Akin Olateru, disclosed this while speaking on the side-lines of a two-day industry engagement on the review of accident reports organised by the bureau in Abuja. The Federal Government on Wednesday inaugurated the National Policy on the Implementation of Science and Technology Education and its implementation guidelines on how science and technology would be taught in schools. The federal government has jacked up the loan portfolio of TraderMoni to N50,000 representing a 400 per cent increment. The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq disclosed this during the flagging off of the restructured GEEP 2.0 (Government Enterprise Empowerment Programme) in Abuja. The portfolio, which is for marginalized youth previously used to be N10,000. The FarmerMoni was also increased to N300,000 respectively. THISDAY
In a development that shows sustained investors’ confidence in the Nigerian debt market, the federal government through the Debt Management Office (DMO) raised a whooping N1.923 trillion from bond auctions from January till date. The government raised the funds through the FGN bonds, mostly for high net worth institutional investors and saving bonds, primarily for retail investors, through the Debt Management Office. THISDAY

The Federal Government has commenced the training of youths in the South-South zone, in vocational skills and trades to address youth unemployment in that zone. Festus Keyamo, SAN, Minister of State for Labour and Employment, who flagged off the programme in Warri, Delta State, stated that the training was part of Government’s commitment to providing solutions to youth unemployment nationwide, through the National Training Programme for Youths on Vocational Skills Acquisition/Emerging Trades. The Federal Government has commenced training of personnel of ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) for the timely preparation, submission and approval of the 2022 national budget. Nigeria’s foreign reserves will get a timely boost on Monday when the country’s share of $3.5billion from the $650 billion Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) approved by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to boost global liquidity, matures for collection. The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has commenced the installation of check-in and screening equipment at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. According to a statement signed by the General Manager, Corporate Affairs, FAAN, Mrs Henrietta Yakubu, the equipment being installed are to address the recent challenges in airport operations and facilitation of management systems at airports. The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) has said it is reviewing the revenue allocation formula that will be ready for presentation to President Muhammadu Buhari by the end of 2021. Elias Mbam, chairman of the commission, made this known while addressing journalists in Abuja. Mbam said the review was one of the major responsibilities of the commission and was last done in 1992, which was 29 years ago. He said that according to the constitution, the formula, which has been accepted as an act of the National Assembly, would remain in force for a period of not less than five years. BUSINESSDAY
