On Thursday May 31, 2018, history was made with the signing, by President Buhari, at the State House, of the Not Too Young To Run Bill, which reduces the minimum ages for elective office in Nigeria, as follows:

  • Eligible age for aspirants for members of the State Houses of Assembly, from 30 to 25 years
  • Eligible age for aspirants for members of the Federal House of Representatives, from 30 to 25 years
  • Eligible age for aspirants for Office of the President, from 40 to 35 years.
